Jure Gradišnik graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under Prof. Stank Arnold and later continued his studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg under Prof. Hans Gansch. He has won many prizes at national competitions, including the Yamaha Scholarship in 2003. In 2005 he was awarded the Prešeren Student Prize for his performance of H. Tomasi's concerto with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra. 

During his studies, Gradišnik became a trumpet player with the Ljubljana Opera and Ballet Orchestra and was employed there as a solo trumpet player from 2003-2012. He is currently employed as a solo trumpet player with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. 

In addition, he actively collaborates with other orchestras and various chamber ensembles, including the brass quintet SiBrass, in trio Seraphim, RTV Slovenia Brass Trio and in duet with harpist Maria Gamboz Gradišnik. As a soloist he has appeared with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Slovenian Philharmonic Chamber String Orchestra, the Slovenian Armed Forces Orchestra, the Filharmonia Oltenia Symphony Orchestra and the Maribor Festival Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of the Slovene National Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, Slovak Chamber Orchestra Cappella Istropolitana, Croatian Army Orchestra, Romanian Chamber Orchestra Filarmonici "Oltenia" and the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed with renowned musicians (S. Arnold, R. Galliano, S. Mead, R. Tognetti ...) and under the baton of many renowned conductors such as A. Nanut, U. Lajovic, M. Letonja, E. Shao, D. Rossberg, T. Hanus ...  

Since 2004 he has been teaching in the music school at the St Stanislav Institute, in 2011 he became an assistant and in 2015 an associate professor at the Academy of Music.
