Urša Strehar Benčina is an ethnologist, anthropologist and theatre pedagogue who has been involved in improvisational theatre since she was a child. For more than 15 years she has been leading primary and secondary school theatre improvisation groups at the Pioneer Centre. She is the coordinator of the primary school programme Little Improv School at the Improv Association, she is a member of the improv collective Improške and an active judge and moderator at the School Improv League and Improv League performances (last year Strehar Benčina won the title of the most respected judge of the season). In recent years she has been working mainly on international cooperation projects (Young Theatre, Young Theatre on the Move, Poets of Today - Voices of Tomorrow, Youth Learning through Arts, PANG - Performing Arts for next Generation, ELPIS, I am Hope, etc.) where she has been running workshops and trainings in different European countries for different target groups (from educators and youth workers to young people from different backgrounds and predispositions) and has also been doing further training herself.
