The musical phenomenon Summer Orchestra Camp POK25, which awakens hope, connects cultures, and breaks stereotypes about classical music, will bring together more than 150 singers and musicians from Slovenia and abroad. If you thought young people today are passive, you’re mistaken. Young people know how to use the superpower of music to break barriers and present a clear vision of the world.
Peace Child – More Than a Musical
This year's POK25 is part of the international SIT DOWN initiative and takes place under the honorary patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon. It is being created in cooperation with the Peace Child International Foundation, the Cultural Institution ART BSA and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia RS.
Brdo pri Kranju – A Musical Base
Brdo pri Kranju is the perfect location for such creativity, as it is a place where history meets the future. Where politics shapes the fate of a nation, music will shape the fate of the young and give them a voice. At Brdo, they will create, sing, rehearse. Each day will include group, sectional, and orchestral rehearsals. In between, creative workshops in theatre, movement, improvisation, and more will take place. All in one location, as we see Brdo as the musical base of the future.
Young Musicians United for Peace
POK25 is more than just a camp. This year’s inspiring musical-theatrical content will connect young musicians from Slovenia and abroad. Young people will explore and simultaneously create history and shape the future through dialogue, harmony, singing, and music – in a year when the world marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Top-Level Team, Global Project
Behind the project is an experienced team. The Slovenian Youth Orchestra (SMO) is an ambassador of the future. Artistically led by Živa Ploj Peršuh, who has been bringing together young talents for over a decade, pushing musical boundaries, and impressing audiences both at home and abroad. Classic Artač, Music for the Future, ALARM – are projects that proved classical music can be provocative, fun, inspiring, and unifying.
Final Concert at Križanke
The grand finale will be the concert at Križanke on 23 August 2025, at 8:30 p.m. The concert, part of the Ljubljana Festival, will not just be a conclusion but the highlight of the summer’s creative work. A musical manifestation of youthful creativity with a strong message: music is not just entertainment, but also a tool to change the world.
