Ljubljana, 11.8.2023 - In the face of the catastrophic floods that hit Slovenia, the Slovenian Youth Orchestra has decided to host 10 young musicians aged between 12 and 22, whose families have been affected by the recent storm, free of charge. We invite young people to join us for free at #POK2023 (the Slovenian Youth Orchestra's Summer Camp), which will take place from 16 to 23 August at the St Stanislav Institute in Ljubljana.

Young people will come together for 8 days of music, creativity and learning. The final concert with international guests will take place on 23 August in Križanke, where we will perform together with the renowned German artist and star of vocal theatre, Ute Lemper.

We decided to help with music after the extremely positive experience we had with the young Ukrainian musicians we evacuated from Ukraine last year. We would like to give the young people who suffered damage in the floods a week of carefree music-making.

Young people aged between 12 and 22 can apply until Monday 14 August at orkester@smo.ngo

The first ten applicants will be accepted, and all participants will receive free accommodation and meals, as well as free participation in all workshops, music rehearsals and the final concert.
