Five concerts by world-renowned musicians

Festival Ljubljana presents the 6th Winter Festival to celebrate the start of the new year. The Winter Festival will take place in Ljubljana from 28 February to 4 March 2023 and will feature five concerts by world-renowned musicians. Tickets are on sale now.

As soloists, they will perform with Slovenian Youth Orchestra under the baton Live Ploj Peršuh this evening featuring violinist Robert Lakatos and clarinettist Arthur Stockel. Serbian violinist Robert Lakatos was the youngest violin student at the Academy in his native Novi Sad, where he now works as a lecturer, and went on to study at the Zurich University of Music and with Julian Rachlin at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He is also the winner of the renowned Pablo de Sarasate International Violin Competition. French clarinettist Arthur Stockel has established himself as a passionate and eclectic musician through his virtuosic and multifaceted career as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral member. When he was appointed Principal Clarinet of the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 21, he proved to be one of the leading classical artists of his generation. He trained with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy, and has appeared under the batons of conductors such as Daniel Harding, Valery Gergiev, Antonio Pappano and Vladimir Jurovsky (1 March, 7.30 p.m., Cankarjev dom).
