Jan Sever - klavir mentor

Jan Sever is considered one of the most prominent pianists of his generation. He studied in Ljubljana and, during his studies, received numerous national and international awards. He is also the recipient of the Prešeren Student Award. In addition to his solo work, he has devoted a lot of attention to chamber music, collaborating with many of the leading Slovenian soloists. After his studies, he first worked as an accompanist at the Conservatory for Music and Ballet in Ljubljana and at the Academy of Music, and later continued as a piano professor at the same conservatory.

He has recorded several CDs, produced recordings for RTV Slovenia, and released a solo album featuring works by Frederic Chopin. Since 2005, Sever has pursued a parallel musical path, which led him through various tango ensembles (Astorpia, Funtango, Quatroportango), to ethno and jazz fusion bands (G. Bojčevski Quartet, Moonlight Sky), and recently also to solo piano improvisation performances, where he presents his original music.
