Slovenian Youth Orchestra Summer Orchestra Camp

POK will take place this year from 16 to 23 August at the St Stanislav Institute.

Each year, the Summer Orchestra Camp brings together around 100 young Slovenian musicians to form a large, ad hoc symphony orchestra. It is aimed at musicians between 12 and 22 years of age who are involved in music education.

Anyone can join, without audition. Over the course of a week, participants will have the unforgettable experience of meeting peers and role models, learning, making music, creating music together and preparing for the grand finale: a performance on the big stage of the Križanke in Ljubljana in the company of world-class, internationally renowned soloists.

The young people practice 6 hours a day, 3 hours in the morning (10am to 1pm) and 3 hours in the afternoon (4pm to 7pm), and in the evenings they enjoy social and musical activities. The first three days are devoted to sectional rehearsals in the mornings and creative workshops in the afternoons.
On 23 August at 20:30, the closing concert of the 71st edition of the Festival will take place at Križanke. Ljubljana Festival.
This year's orchestra instruments: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, percussion, timpani.
