To commemorate the start of the Ukrainian war, the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Nataša Pirc Musar, organised a central event to show our support for Ukraine and express our sympathy for all its people. Among the guests present was the Ukrainian Ambassador Andrii Taran, who spoke on behalf of Ukraine, while Anna Kravchenko, Music for the Future project associate, shared the experiences of those Ukrainians who had found refuge from the war in Slovenia.

A special moment was the video greeting by Olena Zelensky, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who addressed the gathering especially for the occasion.

The music part of the event was enriched by young talented musicians who participate in our humanitarian-art project, Music for the Future. Among them were pianist Olena Tsymbal from Zaporizhia and violinists Anna and Sofiia Kysliak. The Kysliak sisters' stories are particularly touching as they have had to leave home twice before with their families; first from occupied Donbas in 2014 and then from Kiev last year.
