This is the reason why even a British media giant has paid tribute to the Slovenian

The Slovenian conductor attracted the attention of the British BBC because of her rescue operation.

Shortly after the war in Ukraine began, a campaign was launched to rescue the children of one of the local orchestras from the storm of war. A Slovenian conductor took action Živa Ploj Peršuh . The story of the 140 people who found shelter in Slovenia is also reported in the British BBC.

"It has been a difficult journey. We couldn't open the windows on the train, we couldn't open the lights," describes 10-year-old Gleb, who took his recorder with him on the journey and had to leave most of his belongings, including his pets, behind in his home country. The older members of the orchestra have formed a youth orchestra, with which they want to perform in Europe in the coming months. The younger musicians are rehearsing together for a performance with President Borut Pahor, reports Žurnal24.

Živa Ploj Peršuh is for BBC said they want children to feel loved and valued. "They deserve it. They are young, bright, talented," she stresses. She cannot imagine herself in their situation. "I have a seven-year-old son. I can't imagine having to go on a train with him, with a plastic bag in my hand, maybe a teddy bear, a phone, papers and that's it." The children are determined to be musical ambassadors for Ukraine until they can return to their homeland, Zurnal24 reports.
