The Summer Orchestra Camp is this year part of the international initiative SIT DOWN, which enables young creators to convey messages of peace, cooperation, and unity through music. For the first time, orchestra musicians will be joined by choir singers and actors, as we prepare the musical Peace Child.
Who can apply?
Young orchestra musicians (aged 12–22)
Young choir singers (aged 12–16 and 16–22) – for the first time in the history of the Summer Orchestra Camp!
No audition required – anyone who wishes to make music and create is welcome to apply.
Accepted Instruments:
Violin, viola, violoncello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon,
French horn, trumpet, trombone, timpani/percussion, harp.
Choir Singers by Voice Type:
Children's choir: soprano and alto.
Mixed youth choir: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass.
How Does the Camp Work?
6 hours of music rehearsals per day (morning & afternoon).
First three days: sectional rehearsals + creative and sports workshops.
Next three days: group rehearsals and performance preparation.
Final three days: intensive preparations for the grand concert.
Final day: General rehearsal and evening concert at Križanke.
Price and Packages
You can choose between the package NO WORRIES (full board) and I SLEEP AT HOME (includes lunch). Regardless of the package chosen, both include full participation in the camp programme, rehearsals with mentors and professional collaborators, creative workshops, social activities, and a set number of free tickets for the final concert. The package price does not include the €50 registration fee, which must be paid upon registration and is non-refundable in case of cancellation.
POK25 is 2 days longer and fuller this year!
POK25 is more than just a music camp – it is an opportunity for young people to experience the work and challenges of a symphony orchestra, and this year, for the first time, with additional choir singers in a major vocal-instrumental production. It functions as a campus where young musicians and singers connect through various activities in an open creative spirit, living together for 10 days, rehearsing, socialising, and creating lifelong memories – all leading up to the grand performance at Križanke. As part of this year’s project, young participants will also take part in thematic education for the first time. In preparation for the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, they will explore the workings of this important institution and the current challenges of the international community from the perspective of children and youth.

**BUS TRANSPORT: will be organised daily from Ljubljana to Brdo pri Kranju and back. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.
The shuttle service is available at an extra cost of € 90 for the whole duration of the camp. Please tick the SHUTTLE option on the registration form.

This Year’s Programme: The Peace Child Musical
POK25 – Peace Child Week is part of the international cultural initiative SIT DOWN, which offers young people a space to express their visions, opinions, and demands for the future through art. On the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the founding of the United Nations, SIT DOWN brings together art and diplomacy, opening space for dialogue, cooperation, and intergenerational trust in times of global tension.
At the heart of this year's camp is the international musical Peace Child, which will bring together 200 young artists from Slovenia and beyond. In an imaginary world divided by conflict, children use courage and creativity to unite communities and inspire reconciliation. This year, POK will be held for the first time in an expanded format – a symphonic orchestra will be joined by a choir, soloists, and actors to create a powerful musical-theatrical spectacle. POK25 also includes an educational programme about the work of the United Nations and current global challenges, allowing young participants to further explore the importance of international cooperation.
The project is held under the honorary patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, and in partnership with Peace Child International and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia.
